Girl Power! Women in STEM at Kidzu

Sunday, March 12th @ 3 PM – 5 PM

Join Kidzu as we celebrate women in STEM! Cadette Girl Scout Troop 4218 will be hosting a Science Fun Day from 3-4:30pm and teaching ways that kids can help protect the environment. Learn about composting and reusing materials to protect our oceans while creating marine life arts and crafts!

Scientist and author Shanté Adams will also help facilitate a hands-on activity building a DNA helix. Join Shanté for a storytime with one of her own books at 4pm.

Shanté Adams is an ASCP-Certified Scientist with a background in Molecular Biology testing. She became a mother later in her scientific career and was inspired by motherhood to become a children’s book author to share funny stories about her family. She aims to share positive, family-oriented stories that teach life values in a fun way. Her stories are easy for little ones to follow and give representation to children that look like her daughter.
